SUMMARY:The Pagans S.O.H & Suave Martyrs - LPL
DESCRIPTION:The Pagans S.O.H & Suave Martyrs plus guests Dangerous Beans \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Pagan Shepherds of Humanity’ aka ‘The Pagans‘ are a 4 piece band hailing from West Bromwich\, England. Forming in July 2016\, we set on a Pagan voyage\, fusing elements of hip hop/punk/funk/jazz/metal/reggae to create a Pagan sound that would be truly our own. We’re not ‘trying’ to create our sound\, we’re just seeing what realms the sound will lead us into. The Pagans are all but instruments to channel the Divinity of Life through your ears and into your Soul\, one by one. Peace. \nManchester’s Suave Martyrs meld angular indie guitar with the flowing sounds of 60s west-coast psychedelia along with the baggiest of beats.

SUMMARY:The Kairos - LPL
DESCRIPTION:The Kairos plus guests \nThe Kairos are a 4-piece Liverpool Rock and Roll band\, who have played the venues of the city since starting at the age of 14/15. New single\, “Money Mind”\, emphasises the groups raw and powerful sound that pays homage to the obvious influences of the Alternative Rock genre\, whilst also presenting the much needed breath of fresh air that this style of music has been waiting for. \nHaving played many of Liverpools monumental venues\, such as Heebie Jeebies\, the Zanzibar\, The Arts Club\, O2 Academy and Hangar 34 (Liverpool Sound City)\, the boys have also seen their fair share of line up changes. Despite these bumps in the road that any band faces\, they still come out on-top\, with something to prove to their beloved city.

SUMMARY:MiG 15 - LPL
DESCRIPTION:MiG 15 plus guests Hushtones + Fuss + Dan The Man \nAfter their large and successful tour supporting OMD around the UK\, MiG 15 are back in their hometown Liverpool to celebrate Xmas with their friends. So get down early for a top night of the best new local bands. \nMiG 15 is deliberately provocative symbol of Cold War. It hasn’t gone away… it’s gone digital! Lying politicians are still manipulating the masses\, and now they have even more tools and media to do it with. Music should be the weapon of the people\, but in a post-truth world\, even that is struggling to break through. \nAs a concept\, MiG 15 began when James McCluskey was a teenager growing up in San Diego\, inspired by the fighter jets coming and going from the military bases there. After finishing school\, he moved back to Liverpool and was introduced by Ann Heston (wife of the late Alan Wills – Deltasonic) to the former Dustland singer\, Adam Bray\, which is when things really started to take off. \nIt wasn’t until 2019\, after nearly two years of writing songs that the pair felt they were ready to unleash their timeless blend of powerful electro indie upon the world. After some experimentation with the live sound\, James Morris on guitar\, and Martin Gordon on Drums\, were added to the complete the line up. \nAlready working with producers such as Rich Turvey of Blossoms fame\, and Tord Knudsen from The Wombats\, and with a heavy touring schedule coming up\, it won’t be long until they are playing to sold out crowds and festivals globally. \n£7 on the door.

SUMMARY:Quantum Tadpole - LPL
DESCRIPTION:Quantum Tadpole plus guests 7 Mile Snake + Emergency Ops \nQuantum Tadpole are finally hatching from their atomic frogspawn to bring you their first ever gig this Christmas. The long anticipation brewing within these rock musicians finally birthed the band in September 2019\, where their passion thrives among the student bands formed at the University of Liverpool. \nThe group super-impose the formulae of soft indie ballads with heavy alternative classics to produce a rendition of diverse rock sound. Their themes stem from the emotional roller-coaster of student life\, incorporating the complicated terminologies found in lectures that don’t make any more sense to them as they would to you. \nQuantum Tadpole attempts to convey the crazy emotions of young life through lapses of soft then gritty sound. They cover the many great bands that have done this before them\, including Arctic Monkeys\, Foo Fighters and more. \nTheir mental turmoil now breaks free with their first gig\, just like when the primordial ooze first made its way onto land.\nExactly like it. \n£5 on the door.

SUMMARY:Babybird - LPL
DESCRIPTION:Babybird + guests \nBabybird is a musical project centred around songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Stephen Jones\, who has been releasing music since 1995. While Jones’ early solo work was released under the “Baby Bird” name\, the altered “Babybird” was first used to distinguish the full band line-up that has changed often over the years. However in recent years\, Jones has recorded many of the Babybird albums himself\, in addition to recording as a solo artist\, and under various aliases including Death Of The Neighbourhood\, Trucker\, Black Reindeer\, Deluder\, Arthritis Kid and others. \nStephen Jones started writing and recording songs at home and his first collection of these demos\, I Was Born a Man\, was released in July 1995 using the name Baby Bird. He formed a band in order to tour and promote this work. In 1996\, Babybird signed to Echo Records and their first single was released in July 1996.  The band then split. Jones continued on his own\, writing fiction\, releasing solo work and created the score for the film Blessed. In October 2005\, the band reformed with three members and created another album released in September 2006. They went on tour in November 2009 and then split again in 2013. After a number of Babybird releases on Bandcamp from 2015\, Jones took the band back out on tour in late 2017 with a new line up. A compilation album Happy Stupid Nothing was released in 2019\, featuring a selection of Babybird tracks from 2015 onwards .

SUMMARY:Buck & Evans - LPL
DESCRIPTION:Buck & Evans plus guests Sweet Crisis \nAsk Chris Buck whether he agrees with BBC Radio 2’s Blues Show’s assessment that Buck & Evans are “unquestionably major talents” and it’ll inevitably draw a wry smile. His surprise at the broadcaster’s effusive statement is hardly surprising. After all\, it was only a few years ago that he played his first gig with vocalist Sally Ann Evans – a “one off pairing” to accommodate an eleventh hour offer for a show in London. “We quickly threw together a 45 minute set to get us both through that one show” laughs Sally Ann. \nBuck. And Evans\, literally. \nFast forward 4 years and the “one off pairing” (soon cemented by AC/DC stand-in drummer Bob Richards and bassist Dominic Hill) can count Slash\, Bernie Marsden and Adrian Smith among their fast-growing fanbase. Indeed\, it was only 4 months after that innocuous first gig that Buck & Evans were Arizona-bound to play an open-air fundraiser before closing the event as the Guns N’ Roses legend’s backing band\, prompting Slash to dub Chris “a fu*king awesome guitar player”. \nWith a brace of critically acclaimed EPs in their armoury and industry veteran Alan Niven at the rock and soul quartet’s helm\, the meteoric progression of those first few months was to be a sign of things to come; playlisted on the countries’ biggest radio stations (Planet Rock\,  BBC Radio 2 etc)\, sold out shows and festival slots covering the length and breadth of the UK and fulsome reviews flooding in from both sides of the Atlantic\, (“Fleetwood Mac-esque reverie – pulsating groove\, swirling guitars and soaring harmonies” – Blabbermouth) Buck & Evans are set to take their exciting brand of “ exquisite rock and soul” (Classic Rock Magazine) to the next level. And with festivals such as Download\, Ramblin’ Man Fair\, Stone Free and Azkena Rock as well as a 2019 debut album soon to be under their belt\, it may finally be time to acknowledge that this ‘one off’ is here to stay…

SUMMARY:Declan Welsh & The Decadent West - MCR
DESCRIPTION:Declan Welsh & The Decadent West plus guests \nDeclan Welsh and his troubadour gang have recently performed at the Labour For Socialism event ‘Concert For Corbyn’ in Glasgow\, and played in Palestine with an orchestra of child refugees\, which gives you an idea of just how committed the young Glaswegian is to effecting change in the world he sees. Described by some as a modern amalgamation of Joe Strummer and Billy Bragg\, Welsh certainly isn’t timid in challenging the political status quo himself. \nFortunately\, he’s also got the songs to back it up. Recent tracks like ‘Nazi Boys’ and ‘Shiny Toys’ exhibit an indie rock band already reaching for stadium anthems\, while ‘Useless’ showcases an emotional ballast to back it all up. Whether Welsh can change the world remains to be seen\, but as a dynamic and ambitious songwriter\, he’s throwing everything into it right now.

SUMMARY:The Extons - MCR
DESCRIPTION:The Extons plus guests \nThe Extons sound packs a punch\, with memorable guitar riffs and anthemic choruses about small-town monotony and the 9-5 drudgery. Already making a name for themselves\, with early demo\, Grown Ups\, being featured as BBC introducing’s track of the week and played by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1. They have since released 3 singles including “I Won’t Leave Lonely” Which has seen consistent plays on amazing radio\, acclaim from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music & Huw Stephens on bbc radio 1. The single unapologetically hits listeners in the face and blends the simplicity of the The Strokes with the energy of Catfish and the Bottlemen and the lyrical grit of Jake Bugg’s Early Material.
