The multi-instrumentalist duo of Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse started their band in Oklahoma in 2009. \nAdmittedly the female-driven alternative acts that inspired the band such as Veruca Salt\, X\, The Breeders\, L7 and Babes In Toyland (the later of whom Skating Polly toured with in Europe) aren’t typical reference points for most of today’s up-and-coming bands\, but maybe they should be. “The thing that we identify with in a lot of those bands is that they can be really aggressive and loud while also being super melodic\,” Kelli explains\, adding that the new dynamic in the band helped them be more expansive when it came to their sound and arrangements. “Everything happened very smoothly when Kurtis became part of the band. It just felt natural having him there and writing with him.” In typical Skating Polly fashion\, the trio will still be switching instruments live\, something that’s become a hallmark of their performances and one that opens up more possibilities with the additional instrumentation on The Make It All Show – Skating Polly’s latest effort. \nSpeaking of live shows\, Skating Polly really need to be seen in a club to fully grasp what makes them so special. “It can get pretty chaotic when we’re playing. People have said it feels like it could fall apart at any moment but in a good way\,” Bighorse says with a laugh. “We try to make our music honest and engaging and I think that’s what drew us to people like Nina and Louise or Exene; you can probably guess a lot of the acts that we love\, but we’re able to keep making music that always sounds like us\,” Mayo explains. “We really try to make the songs the focus instead of trying to flaunt technical musical abilities\,” adds Bighorse – and that honesty and optimism is why everyone from legendary musical figures as well as hardcore fans have gravitated toward Skating Polly’s music. DESCRIPTION:Frimann:\nFrimann is a 23-year-old queer artist from Oslo\, Norway. He makes celebratory disco-pop music\, and his new EP ‘Last King Alive’ is the perfect example of that. Since his debut as a recording artist back in 2018\, Frimann has released four singles\, one remix\, an EP and three music videos. Frimann’s music has almost 70\,000 streams on Spotify\, and his latest single ‘Last King Alive‘ charted at nr.1 on ‘LGBTQ Music Chart’ for two weeks at the end of 2021. As a live performer\, Frimann is known for his over-the-top\, energetic performances and he has played all over Oslo\, including three years at Oslo Pride Park and Rockefeller Music Hall. \n\nNaila:\nNaila is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Barcelona currently based in Liverpool. She started in music when she was really young\, training in classical singing and piano. When she was 11\, she started to write some of her thoughts in a notebook\, which quickly became songs and shifted her interest into modern styles. She realised writing and performing was her passion and\, as soon as she turned 18 she left everything behind and moved to Liverpool to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and pursue music. Since then\, she has released her first three singles ‘A Couple Hundred Sad Songs’ ‘Our Last Night’ and ‘Voices In My Head’. With Soul and R&B tracks and dreamy vocals\, she’s not one to miss!\n\nDanelia:\nDanelia is a 20 year-old Mexican singer and songwriter. Ever since she was a little girl\, she has always felt inspired by and connected with the music. She started off by learning classical piano at the young age of 10 years old. But it wasn’t until she was 15 years old that she decided to pursue a professional career in music\, and started taking vocal classes. She wrote her first ever song at the age of 17 years old in 2018. In 2019\, she was admitted to LIPA (The Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts) where she is currently studying her second year of music. Her musical influences include Harry Styles\, Adele\, Christina Aguilera\, Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa.

You will hear songs from my debut album “Showin’ Up\, Startin’ Again\,” and plenty of new material.\nOur very special guest kicking off the evening is the wonderful Thom Morecroft.\n\n\n\nJohn Witherspoon is a singer/songwriter chiefly inspired by icons Dylan\, Paul Simon and The Beatles. The principals behind the craft are old-school\, and it is these principals on which his 2020 album ‘Showin’ Up Startin Again’ stands so firmly. The Liverpool artist released four singles in 2016 under the moniker Flynn’s Piece\, produced by Tony Draper at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios. The guitar sounds of 90’s stars like Oasis\, Blur\, Stereophonics and Cast heavily informed John’s early work\, and still permeate the songs today. In 2018 Witherspoon worked on the songs that would become “Showin’ Up..\,” and the debut LP was produced and mixed by Alec Brits at The Cabin\, also in Liverpool. Bolstered by the brilliance of top session guitarist Scott Poley and keyboardist Henry Burnett\, each single release saw Witherspoon draw sizeable crowds. After another intense writing period in summer 2020\, he returned to The Cabin\, where work on album number two is ongoing.

DESCRIPTION:The first album « Oddity » was full of promises for the start of an epic journey but it is on stage where he starts to carve his signature – costumes\, make-up\, psychedelic atmospheres\, humour and sensuality. Yes\, you think of Genesis\, of Alice Cooper and David Bowie\, of Led Zeppelin and Pink-Floyd too. But eventually\, you will no longer think of anybody else. \n\nFollowing the release of the highly anticipated « Torn Apart »\, featuring special guest Steve Hackett (Genesis)\, the « Tearing the Tour Apart » hit the road in Europe and Franck reinforced his show as one of the most irresistible in the rock scene. 2017 saw the release of a live DVD/BluRay of the tour\, which\, after about 100 dates\, ended with a standing ovation on stage of the Loreley « Night of the Prog » festival in front of 6000 people. \nCarducci\, as Master of Ceremonies\, leads his Rock ‘n Roll Circus where each of his players embodies a side of his music. Who can explain how a 12 string guitar extra neck would be added to a bass guitar\, how a powerful guitar riff would go with a hot belly dance\, or a Mellotron solo would end up in a duel with a didgeridoo?\nWho can also explain how Achilles\, guitar and sword in hand\, would kidnap a sensual Alice from her Wonderland? \nHowever\, let them pick you up and take you in the palm of their hands – you won’t want to leave until the very last note of the concert. Your senses will not be given a second of rest while these characters take you to a place where dreams are kings\, emotions are queens and musical genres are crossed with no borders. \nSeptember 2017 was the start of « On The Road to Nowhere » where the band won the « Best Overseas Band » award from UK magazine « Classic-Rock Society ».\nAfter the release of his 3rd opus « The Answer » in November 2019\, Franck will hit the road again in 2021 for « The Answer Tour ».\nImmerse yourself into the spectacle and let yourself go as you embark on a journey into a colourful\, flamboyant and fun musical universe\, which is open and accessible to all. \n\n\n\nhttp://www.franckcarducci.com\n\n\n18+

DESCRIPTION:This magnetic bond still holds after more than 40 years of attempted escapes and still loved for their total in-yer-face originality\, the contrast between the dead pan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway are hilarious to watch. John’s lyrical genius and Willy’s\noutstanding musicianship (he seems to play almost every stringed instrument known to man\, plus a few hybrids of his own making!)\nWilly’s interest in making instruments began when he commandeered two guitars made by his dad in 1965. One from an old guitar neck and a scaffold plank which became affectionally known as the Les Dawson\, and the other branded the Mk1 Schitstik electric slide of similar pedigree. These instruments were used on many of the early tracks\, including Really Free and Racing Cars) Was the Last Straw Tour of 2017 to be the end? Willy’s remark “this will be the last time that many of you will see us together again” was often hastily misinterpreted as the final throw of the dice\, but the reason given “it’s not us packing up\, it’s you lot dying off\, you know who you are!” is often overlooked by eager scribes. And so the rumours abound.\nFor any Otway/Barrett virgins out there who don’t know what to expect\, be prepared for everything from bare-chested theremin playing to wah wah wheelie bin as the duo jump from one hit and 40 near misses to another: An amazing and irreverent performance by two master entertainers.

Saint headlined downstairs at Jimmy’s in October\, and will be debuting his new poems ‘The Old People’s Retirement Home Pie Company’ and ‘Haulin’ Oats’.

DESCRIPTION:Project: Leave The Capital is a mission to ignite the home fires and keep them burning\, with a 4-Track vinyl EP and a UK tour launching February 2022. The record boasts four of the finest bands/artists from the melting pot of talent performing across Herts\, Beds\, Bucks\, Cambs and Northants right now. The EP and tour will highlight what can be achieved away from label millions\, harnessing a DIY attitude for\npassion\, not profit. The four featured artists will not only showcase their individual talents\, but will play their part in elevating their local scene\, during a time when it has never been more vital to do so.\nA grassroots music community is alive and kicking. From the Project: Leave The Capital collective of Blaggers Records\, blender\, Transmission Indie and Vandalism Begins At Home\, to the judging panel of Gareth Barber (Bedford Esquires)\, Suzanne Fletcher (Musicians Against Homelessness) Danny Watson (CDP Radio PR) and Hana Staddon (BBC 6Music). From more than 50 incredible artists that submitted tracks to be part of the project\, to the final fab four that is JW Paris\, Luna Rosa\, Seán Grant & The Wolfgang and\nThe Seven Sentinels\, and of course\, the pledgers – who smashed a Kickstarter target that ended past £3\,000.\n“Hitting the Kickstarter target in that short space of time just goes to show the support of grassroots music out there\,” said guitarist and vocalist of JW Paris\, Danny Collins. “As an independent band we are nothing without people supporting us. We haven’t got\nthose A&R heads\, thousands of pounds of investment or some huge PR push\, we have you lot who have pledged their hard-earned money to be part of something special. It shows that music is still made by the people that matter the most – fans.”\nNew music champion John Kennedy played all four tracks across two nights of his influential Xposure show on Radio X\, hailing ‘I Am The City’ by The Seven Sentinels as his prestigious Friday night ‘Hot One’. “Amazing!”\, said the Milton Keynes hip-hop heroes in response on social media\, with MC Bombshell adding: “Hitting the target was an incredible show of support from the fans\, demonstrating how hungry they are for live music in this digital world\, and really affirming for an independent musician\, that all the work we put in to create our music resonates with a lot of people.”\nRory McDade\, singer and guitarist of Luna Rosa said\, “Projects like this are so vital for bands like us. This project embodies the exact ethos and sentiment Luna Rosa was built on\, DIY to the core with passion coursing its veins\, running on grit and determination.”\nFor Seán Grant & The Wolfgang it will be their first tour since two jaunts around Europe\, three years ago when they were signed to legendary independent record label Fierce Panda. “It feels like we’ve won the Premier League and we’re going out in an open top bus\,” beams Seán Grant as he looks ahead to a “celebratory tour”. “This feels very organic and natural and it’s almost like the tour is going to be a celebration of the project that has already been backed on Kickstarter.
